Buy a little piece of Paris' history...

Today, let me take you inside a palace: Le Royal Monceau! It's not the most luxurious hotel that we have in Paris (yet?!) but the reason why I'm posting about it now, is that today (Thursday) all its furniture (including paintings, chandeliers, silverware, bathrobes...) will be auctioned by the famous French auction house Cornette de Saint Cyr. And guess who went there especially for you to take photos?! It was fun actually, even if it was really crowded (I had no idea so many people would be interested in the place). FYI, the Royal Monceau will be closed for more than a year after this, enough to let famous designer Philippe Starck turn it into the next hypest place to stay in Paris ;)

Paris Bed & Breakfast

Did you know that you can stay in Paris in a Bed & Breakfast? I didn't... Well until a couple of days ago when I received an email from a friend of friend of friend who was actually trying to promote his apartment. I gave him a call and went there yesterday to take a photo. Nice place, cool guy and definitely a good experience (well, that's what his guest book says anyway!!). He also told me that he would soon be offering theme meals : Parisian dinners, Mediterranean, Indian... Check this site for more. You'll see, he's not the only one to run a Parisian Bed and Breakfast. PS: the "rocks" on the floor are not stones but cushions!

Picnic alert: the annual PDP picnic will definitely take place this Wednesday @ 7:30 on the Seine riverside. The weather will be gorgeous! Bring some food and something to drink and don't forget to also bring your good mood ;) More in the forum or on Facebook.

Ice Bar at the Kube Hotel

It's been a while since I wanted to visit Hotel Kube, a very trendy hotel located in a very unusual place of Paris - for high-end hotels anyway; the 18th arrondissement? Last night, thanks to Packard Bell who had a product launch over there, I had the opportunity to go there and test what this hotel is famous for: its ice bar. Funny as hell. Everything is made of ice:the bar itself, the "furniture", the sculptures... even the glasses! Of course you have to wear a warm outfit, gloves, a ski hat... and you cannot really stay more than 20 minutes. And all you can drink is vodka! Check this little video clip that I made with the rest of my photos.
Thank you very much for all your nice congratulations, I cannot reply to every one but it really makes me happy;)

Hotel Everland

Despite what you may think the important part in this photo is not the statue in the foreground, nor the impressive columns of the Paris modern art museum in the background but the green "capsule" on top of the building. And do you know what it is? A piece of art and... a hotel room!
Yes, people, if you're looking for a - very original - place to stay in Paris, well you have until December 31, 2008 to book this room. Needless to say that you have to be very patient, for they only allow bookings 2 months in advance, in order to give everyone a chance... Give me your feedback if you do it! Find out everything about the Everland hotel here.
